Our Mission

Inspiring Yidden to connect to Hashem, on and off the court

ZS Beyond the Court is a nonprofit organization led by Zevi Samet with one goal: to inspire Jews to connect more deeply to Hashem, each on their own level, through meaningful programming—both on and off the court.

My name is Zevi Samet. I'm a Yid who is trying to bring as much light as I can into this world! With Hashem's help, this initiative will enable the guys on the basketball team + some of my peers to be inspired, and help me help them get closer to Hashem!

Zevi Samet

Zevi’s story is at the heart of that mission. By pursuing basketball at the highest level while remaining deeply committed to Torah and mitzvos, Zevi shows that living a Torah-centered life can go hand in hand with pursuing your passions. Through ZS Beyond the Court, he is using that platform to inspire Jews of all backgrounds.

The Midrash says there was oil in Yaakov's staff - he carried it so that whenever it was dark outside or he had free time, he could light a candle and learn. We need to think about what our default is - what are we running to do when we have free time? Always be prepared to do the Ratzon Hashem. One who shows the whiteness of his teeth (smiles) to his friend is better than one who gives him milk - because a smile has the power to lift up someone's entire day and make them feel empowered to achieve their goals...
